HajjGuider is looking for a remote Islamic researcher and contributor who can help turn real pilgrimage questions into clearer guides, checklists, and planning resources.
This is a practical part-time research role with the potential to grow into a full-time position. It is not a generic copywriting brief. The right person should care about accuracy, clarity, and the difference between a page that merely ranks and a page that actually helps a pilgrim make a better decision.
What the role involves
- Researching UK Hajj and Umrah planning topics
- Helping improve guides for families, elderly travellers, women, and first-time pilgrims
- Finding useful mosque and community resource opportunities
- Reviewing package pages for missing practical details
- Building short checklists, FAQs, and planning notes from reliable sources
- Helping identify outreach opportunities with mosques, Islamic societies, and community publishers
Topics you may work on
- Hajj and Umrah preparation checklists
- UK airport comparison notes for Umrah travellers
- Mosque group briefing resources
- Shia Umrah planning questions and practical guide improvements
- Hotel distance, walking strain, rooming, and route comparison notes
- Frequently asked questions from UK pilgrims
Who this may suit
This role may suit a student, graduate, community organiser, Islamic society volunteer, travel content researcher, or someone with personal Hajj or Umrah planning experience.
You do not need to be a scholar. You do need to be careful. Religious rulings should be treated respectfully and checked through appropriate sources rather than guessed.
Useful experience
- Strong written English
- Comfortable researching online and summarising clearly
- Interest in Hajj, Umrah, Islamic travel, or Muslim community work
- Ability to separate verified facts from assumptions
- Familiarity with UK Muslim communities, mosques, or Islamic societies
- Bonus: Arabic, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, or Persian language familiarity
Location and time
This is remote-first and flexible. We are looking for a part-time contributor to begin with, with the potential to grow into a full-time role depending on the person and fit.
How to apply
Send a short note explaining why this work interests you, any relevant experience, and one Hajj or Umrah topic you think UK pilgrims need explained better.
Use the main careers form and mention Islamic Researcher and Contributor in your message.
